MiceManager on PlayStore

Faster access in shared setups (MiceManager 25.9)

In this release, we placed a strong emphasis on improving the user experience within animal facilities. Since computer access can often be limited, this version introduces a new, quick, and secure authentication method, along with a tablet app designed to streamline workflows and make working directly with mice more efficient.

MiceManager is a professional application designed to handle and visualize large volumes of data. While we considered developing a lighter mobile version, it would only support a limited number of animals, reducing the comprehensive colony overview that MiceManager provides.

Instead, we chose to focus on optimizing the app for professional tablets, which can be easily secured, are more affordable than traditional computers, and offer practical advantages such as easy cleaning and storage.

Since version v25.9.x, MiceManager is now available on the Google Play Store for tablets equipped with NFC. We recommend the Galaxy Tab Active5 Pro (we are not affiliated, this model simply offered the best balance of usability and price).

LoX Authentication

LoX Authentication Software

LoX (pronounced “Locks”) is our new security solution built on MIFARE DESFire EV3 technology. It is designed to make login to InfenX apps fast, secure, and completely password-free.

Think of LoX as your digital keyring: it safely stores everything you need to log in, including a unique user ID, your instance address, and a secure token. This setup keeps your identity protected and makes it easy to revoke access if needed from MiceManager. LoX works on our Android and Web app through the LoX Gateway app, available on the Microsoft Store, giving you safe and effortless access wherever you work.

You can find the “how to use” documentation here.

Instance Settings

To support user-specific customization, we’ve introduced instance settings that let you configure behaviors unique to your own instance. You can now access these settings by tapping the gear icon in the top-right corner of the app mice page.

Other functionalities

At your request, we have added several new features to simplify and speed up your work

Cull an entire litter in just a few clicks

Cull a litter

Extend the litter header to display our new shortcut to cull the entire litter (during genotyping or operations)

Limit mice proposed in selectors by a configurable age limit

Limit filtrer

Since code are redundant and old dead mice useless for operations, you can now remove this result from the selectors using the setting cut-off.

Automatically clean up (cull) mice older than a set age using a reminder tool

Reminder of auto clean

Set the maximum age for your colony in settings (default: 36 months). Reminders will then suggest cleaning (culling) mice that exceed this age to keep your database up to date.
