This post walks you through installing the LoX Authenticator on macOS using the Identiv uTrust 3700F NFC reader, allowing you to enable strong authentication for your favorite InfenX applications.
The following explanation was tested on a Mac mini M4 running macOS 26 Tahoe, but it should apply to other setups as well.
Install Identiv macOS driver
macOS detects the Identiv uTrust 3700F device, but it cannot correctly handle the PCSC interface, which results in communication issues with the DesFire EV3 card. To ensure proper reader support, you need to install the official Identiv uTrust 3700F driver.
Since the Identiv support website is currently unavailable, the driver can be downloaded from our storage instead.
After driver installation, you have to restart the computer.
Install LoX Gateway
To enable communication between the InfenX web app and your NFC reader, you need to install our LoX Gateway application. It serves as a third-party authentication component responsible for handling the hardware interactions and ensuring zero-trust authentication.
For M1, M2, M4 Mac, use the arm64 installer
For Intel Mac, use the x64 installer
You can now launch the LoX Authenticator. It will be automatically detected by compatible InfenX applications and is ready to use!
